I’m so excited; at last the book hits the shelves. I’m seeing all of my dancer friends to celebrate with several glasses of wine, I figured where better to celebrate than in a strip club, so I’m heading to my favourite haunt, the White Horse. I’m also having my first feature published in the Islington gazette tomorrow, there are many more to come, I’ve just finished a photoshoot with the Big Issue and have a few radio shows next week. I’m particularly looking forward to being on the Jeremy Vine show next Monday though slightly nervous about having a debate on the moral ethics of stripping. Hmm, if anyone’s listening, phone in and give me some support. I might need it!
I can’t wait to see it on the shelves, or even better see someone buying it or reading it on the tube. Fingers crossed it gets a good response.

With the release of my first book looming I’m in a mix of excitement and fear. Luckily the fear stage is slowly being consumed by the excitement but every now and then it rears its little head.
The fear part comes in when I start thinking, I’ve just put my whole life down on paper for everyone to read friends, family, total strangers and I haven’t been shy about the truth or my opinions! Then the train of thought takes me to, will the public hate me? Strippers aren’t exactly the most popular people in the world, am I setting myself up for some serious bashing from feminists, women’s groups and the general public.
Then I read misinformed articles in the press about dancers being trafficked, forced into stripping and poor working conditions and I think it’s about time people know the truth. So excitement takes over again!

I had an early book launch last Thursday, a burlesque party at the Platinum bar for all the girls that worked with me on this book. After several glasses of champagne I realised, this is it now, so bury the fear demon and enjoy it. So this week I start the PR campaign and reality is really kicking in.
I’ve just conquered my fear and hatred of facebook/myspace and spent days doing what most people could probably do in an hour – setting them up. For the first time in my life I am officially online, networking and blogging!!
Look me up on Facebook!
